Appeal Process

Having considered the Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Planning Scheme and the Chief Executive’s Report on submissions received, South Dublin County Council decided by resolution to make the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme, together with a number of Material and Non-Material Alterations on Tuesday 19th June 2018.

The Planning Scheme and accompanying documents, as made by the Elected Members on 19th June 2018 are available to view below.  Please note that the Alterations document should be read in conjunction with the Draft Planning Scheme documents (September 2017) to reflect the decision of the Planning Authority on Tuesday 19th June 2018 to make the scheme subject to modifications and amendments.

An Bord Pleanala advised South Dublin County Council that fifteen appeals were lodged during the four week appeal period in relation to the Planning Scheme.

An Bord Pleanala held an oral hearing in relation to Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme from Tuesday 22nd January 2019 to Thursday 24th January 2019 (inclusive) at the Offices of An Bord Pleanála.

An Bord Pleanála Appeal Decision

An Bord Pleanála decided on May 8th 2019, under the provision of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, to APPROVE the making of the planning scheme for Clonburris subject to modifications and clarifications (see An Bord Pleanala  for full details)

The Development Agency (South Dublin County Council) will now prepare a consolidated Planning Scheme document, integrating the alterations and modifications approved by An Bord Pleanála. The consolidated Planning Scheme shall be used by the planning authority in assessing all planning applications in the SDZ.

The Development Agency will publish a notice of approval of the Scheme as required under the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, when the consolidated Planning Scheme document is prepared.
